The Merry Monk - C. C. Apolo, Los Cristianos
(near the bus station)

|
Established now for 10
years, The Merry Monk can be found in the Apolo Centre just around the corner from the
main bus station in Los Cristianos. The owners, David and his son James, are originally
from Wetherby, North Yorkshire and along with their long-serving friendly staff make you
feel extremely welcome. |
| The bar is
beautifully decorated in an "Old English" style and when the sun goes down it is
easy to forget that you are not in a country pub back home. Everything is kept immaculate
(check out the bathrooms) and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. It is no surprise that
many visitors make it a regular haunt during they stay in Tenerife. |
| Open 7 days a week from 12
noon until 2am, it's always a good time to pop in. Sit back on the terrace and lap up the
sun or come inside to chill out in comfort. Take advantage of Happy Hours (renamed
"Grumpy Hours" for a bit of fun, David will tell you the story behind it), from
12 noon until 7pm. Great drinks at outrageously low prices for seven hours. Now
thats enough to make anyone happy, wouldnt you say!! |

|
Not forgetting the kids
either with Merry Monks own kids cocktails. With a special drink of their own
and a pool table to keep the youngsters occupied so that you can sit back and relax. If youre feeling a little bit daring why not try one of the
Merry Monk cocktails prepared by Peter who is fondly known by everyone as
"Pedro". |
| In the evenings you can
enjoy listening to talented vocalists in the Entertainments Lounge where Charlotte or
Lorraine will bring you drinks from the bar. There
are top quality live acts every evening from 10-12pm, seven nights a week. |

|

|
David, James and staff go to
great lengths in decorating the bar for special events or occasions like Halloween,
Christmas and Birthday parties. If youre one of the lucky ones to visit Tenerife
during the festive season, then the Merry Monk is a must. Neither words nor photos can do
justice in the way the bar is decorated. You have to be there to experience it. |
